Gesso
an art-marketplace landing page where a wall of art fans out and two pinned scenes deal and fold the cards
GESSO is a one-page landing page template for an art marketplace, gallery or creative platform, shown as a fictional marketplace where artists sell original work and collectors buy it. The headline rises word by word, then one card flies in and a wall of seven art cards fans out of it with handle tags popping on; each card lifts on hover. A marketplace section deals a stack of cards into a diagonal cascade, and a studio section shows a looping film banner that grows as it scrolls in, with a Pause button. On desktop a pinned scene fills a statement in word by word while six cards fan out above it, deal into a cascade and file themselves into a vision grid whose Collector and Studio tabs swap the images (arrow keys work). A second pinned scene folds a featured artist's wide film banner into the centre card of a twelve-portrait wall. Between them, two bands of member avatars drift in opposite directions, a story bento drifts in two columns, and a carousel of works moves with arrow buttons, scroll snapping and a progress bar. Pricing cards sit tilted and straighten on hover, a marquee band drops a tray of tool icons in with a bounce, and the page ends on two closing cards and a footer. There is no backend: the copy is in index.html and the images are listed in src/art.ts. Phones and tablets get stacked layouts without the pinned scenes, the films load smaller files on small screens and play only while on screen, the marquees pause off screen, and reduced-motion settings show every section complete and still. All 55 images and both films are included as responsive WebP and MP4, and Schibsted Grotesk and IBM Plex Mono load from Google Fonts. Built with TypeScript, HTML and CSS plus GSAP and Lenis, with Vite included.
